It is safe and secure to return your voted ballot through the USPS. All of Iowa’s 99 counties now utilize IMb tracing which allows the Auditor's office to track voted ballots on their journey back to the office. The USPS has more than four thousand blue collection boxes placed throughout Iowa which are available to voters 24/7. Voters can use the USPS website to find the drop-off location that is most convenient for them. Many voters may be surprised to learn there are dozens of options within a short drive from their residence or place of business. As always, voters are also encouraged to use the “Track Your Absentee Ballot” tool located on the Iowa Secretary of State's website.

VOTE ABSENTEE IN PERSON - Beginning October 5, voters may vote absentee In Person at the Decatur County Courthouse.  In person absentee voting is available through 5:00 p.m., Monday, November 2, AND INCLUDES TWO SATURDAYS: October 24 (8am - 5pm) and October 31 (9am - 5pm).  IMPORTANT NOTE: Voters who vote absentee in person are required to provide proof of identity.

- On Tuesday, November 3, the polls are open from 7am - 9pm.  Currently, we have just enough election workers to staff six of the seven Decatur County polling places.  This means that all voters will vote at their normal polling place, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF VOTERS WHO NORMALLY VOTE AT THE VAN WERT COMMUNITY CENTER:  THOSE VOTERS (VAN WERT, WELDON, FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP AND LONG CREEK TOWNSHIP) WILL VOTE AT THE BARNUM COMMUNITY CENTER IN DECATUR CITY.
