Decatur County Launches TextMyGov Messaging Service

On October 14, Decatur County will launch the TextMyGov 24/7 mobile phone messaging service for citizens to receive quick responses to frequently asked questions, immediate links to information and the ability to report issues/concerns.

Citizens can text “Hi” to 641/400-6441 to initiate this messaging system to report an issue, ask a question or find county related information.

By texting keywords (Hours, Agenda, etc.), the user will receive an autogenerated response with an answer or a link to the county’s website containing relevant information. 

When reporting an issue, the user will be asked specific guided questions regarding the issue and location of the problem and can even upload a photo of the problem.  These reports are automatically forwarded to admin staff for routing to correct departments.
